Industrial Engineer – Lean Manufacturing & Factory Layout

Pune (Mahalunge) | Full-time | 2–3 years

Who we are

Solutions OptiSpace is a division of Solutions Kaizen Management Systems. We design factories from the inside out: we build the process first, then the building around it. Our Lean Factory Building© method has been used in 250+ factories across 75+ industries, for clients including L&T;, Emerson, Burckhardt Compression and Reliance.

The role

You will be the process brain behind our layouts. You'll go onto client shop floors, measure how work actually flows, and help turn that data into lean layouts our architects build around. Small team, real factories, direct mentoring from our founder Minish Umrani (Lean Black Belt, USA).

What you'll do

- Run time and motion studies, measure cycle times, and calculate daily capacity and takt time
- Find bottlenecks and do analysis across processes
- Calculate manpower requirements and balance lines
- Map current-state and future-state value streams
- Plan material flow and movement paths, and propose handling methods (trolleys, conveyors, racking)




- Draft current state and proposed block-level layouts on AutoCAD and work with our architects to turn your analysis into proposed lean (GEMBA) layouts
- Support implementation on site: 5S, visual management, Kanban, FIFO and our Visual Countfree Stores© system
- Present findings to client owners and plant heads clearly, with numbers

What you bring

Must have:

- B.E./B.Tech in Industrial, Mechanical or Production Engineering
- 2–3 years of hands-on IE work in manufacturing (shop floor, not just desk)
- Real experience with time study, line balancing, takt and capacity calculations
- Strong Excel skills
- Willingness to travel to client sites

Valuable to have:

- Experience with AutoCAD for layout drafting
- Exposure to material handling systems or plant layout projects
- Consulting or client-facing experience
