KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintenance & Reliability: Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for plant machinery, including furnaces, crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, compressors, and dust-handling systems.
Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Diagnose mechanical issues rapidly, perform root-cause analysis on recurring failures, and implement permanent corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Plant Operations & Safety: Ensure all maintenance work strictly complies with safety protocols (Permit-to-Work, LOTO) and collaborate closely with Production, Electrical, and Safety teams.
Shutdowns & Project Support: Assist in annual shutdown planning, machinery alignment, equipment upgrades, installation, and commissioning of new mechanical assets.
Spares & Vendor Management: Maintain inventory of critical spare parts with Stores and Procurement, review technical specifications and drawings, and oversee external service contractors.

Reduction in unplanned breakdowns and repeat mechanical failures

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience: Diploma or B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 23 years of relevant hands-on experience in plant maintenance within process industries (ferro-alloys, steel, foundry, or heavy engineering preferred).
Technical Competencies: Robust knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, power transmission, and maintenance planning. Ability to read mechanical drawings (CAD exposure is an advantage).
Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting capabilities, vendor coordination, team leadership, and a robust commitment to industrial safety.
