Role Description The Owner role at Daily Byte is a full-time, in office position based in Srinagar, responsible for overall strategic direction and day-to-day operations. This includes defining the content vision, overseeing editorial planning, and guiding the development of new formats and products. The role involves managing finances and budgets, coordinating with contributors and partners, and monitoring performance metrics to ensure sustainable growth.

The Owner will handle key decisions related to branding, audience engagement, and organizational development, while fostering a collaborative, inclusive work setting. Regular responsibilities also include problem-solving across business functions and representing Daily Byte in external meetings and community interactions.

Qualifications
Solid leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to set priorities, manage multiple initiatives, and make data-informed decisions.
Experience in content creation, editing,



or media management, with an understanding of how to deliver clear, relevant insights to diverse audiences.
Business management skills, including budgeting, basic financial oversight, and resource planning.
Comfort with digital tools and platforms used for publishing, analytics, and communication.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with staff, partners, and stakeholders.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to improving processes and outcomes.
Prior experience in running or co-managing a small business, startup, or media initiative is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, media, or a related field is preferred, though relevant experience may be considered in place of formal education.
