We're building a factory. Not a shed.

Most factories are built to be ignored: a steel shed, blank walls, a gate. They work, and nobody remembers them.

We want to build something different.

Rajaswi Chemical has made textile chemicals in Ahmedabad since 1984. Now we're building a new plant at Bareja to make acrylic binders for textile printing and sizing. The site is 1,400 square yards, so every square foot has to earn its place.

At the back there will be a clean, honest production shed, designed around the process. At the front, a classical entrance building with proportion, symmetry and a portico, in the tradition of the great mills of Ahmedabad and Britain.

We need one architect to make it all fit.

What you'll do

- Plan the whole site: shed, admin block, gatehouse, tank farm, utilities and truck movement. Nothing wasted.
- Design the shed around the process. Our engineers set the plant layout, and the building serves it.
- Create the admin block and gatehouse with a neoclassical front, or bring a classical specialist's design to life faithfully.
- Get the approvals: estate, DISH factory plan approval and fire NOC. On time.
- Coordinate the team of structural engineers, PEB supplier and equipment vendors,



so nothing clashes.
- Be on site, and see it built the way it was drawn.

You're the right person if

- You hold a B.Arch and are registered with the Council of Architecture.
- You've designed at least one chemical, pharma or process plant that is running today. We'll ask to see it.
- You know Gujarat factory approvals (DISH, fire, GPCB) because you've done them, not because you've read about them.
- You care about the parts nobody sees: drainage, the tank-farm bund, the column grid. A good craftsman finishes the back of the cabinet too.
- You understand proportion. You know why a classical facade looks right when it's right, and cheap when it's wrong.
- You'd rather do one thing brilliantly than ten things adequately.

What you won't find here

- Committees. You'll work directly with the promoter-director.
- A brief that says "just make it cheap." We're careful with money, and more careful with what we build.

One more thing.

This is the first building of Rajaswi's next forty years. We want it to still look right in 2066.
