Role overview
As our Pharmacist, you will run the dispensing counter and act as the store's registered pharmacist. You will be accountable for every prescription dispensed and for compliance with drug regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Check prescriptions and dispense medicines accurately, with clear dosage and usage advice
- Explain generic alternatives to customers and how they compare to branded medicines
- Maintain Schedule H/H1 registers and other records required under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act
- Manage stock: monitor expiry dates, store medicines correctly, and place reorders through the Janaushadhi supply system
- Handle billing and daily cash reconciliation on the store POS
- Supervise the Pharmacy Assistant and keep the store clean, organised and inspection-ready
Qualifications
- B.Pharm or D.Pharm
- Valid registration with the Kerala State Pharmacy Council (mandatory)
- Sound knowledge of medicines, dosage guidelines and drug interactions
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Malayalam and English preferred
- Freshers with valid registration may apply; retail pharmacy experience is an advantage
