Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled Spinning Master to manage the overall spinning mill production process. The candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets, maintaining yarn quality, improving machine efficiency, controlling waste, managing manpower, and reducing manufacturing costs.

Key Responsibilities;-

1. Production Planning and Control

- Plan and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets according to yarn count and customer requirements.
- Monitor production across Blow Room, Carding, Draw Frame, Simplex, Ring Frame, and Winding.
- Coordinate with planning, stores, maintenance, and dispatch teams.
- Minimize machine stoppages and production bottlenecks.

2. Yarn Quality Control

- Maintain yarn quality as per customer specifications.
- Monitor yarn count, CSP/strength, elongation, evenness, imperfections, hairiness, U%, and CVm%.
- Review laboratory test results and implement corrective actions.
- Control thin places, thick places, neps, contamination, and other yarn defects.
- Maintain lot-to-lot quality consistency and minimize customer complaints.

3. Machine Performance and Efficiency

- Monitor spindle utilization, machine efficiency, production per spindle, end breakages, and downtime.
- Ensure correct machine settings according to yarn count and production requirements.
- Monitor drafting systems, rollers, cots, aprons, spindles, rings, and travellers.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance with mechanical and electrical teams.
- Identify recurring process and machinery problems and improve production efficiency.

4. Raw Material and Waste Control

- Evaluate cotton quality and fibre characteristics using available HVI and AFIS test results.
- Adjust process parameters according to fibre length, micronaire, strength, short-fibre content, and trash.
- Monitor department-wise waste, including blow-room waste, card waste, pneumafil waste, clearer waste, and hard waste.
- Improve fibre recovery, yarn realization, and raw material utilization.




- Coordinate with purchase and quality teams regarding raw material quality.

5. Manpower Management

- Allocate duties to shift supervisors, section in-charges, operators, and helpers.
- Ensure adequate manpower availability across all departments and shifts.
- Train employees in machine operation, piecing, quality control, and waste reduction.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and employee performance.
- Conduct shift meetings and communicate production priorities.

6. Cost Control and Productivity Improvement

- Reduce manufacturing cost per kilogram of yarn.
- Improve machine efficiency and labour productivity.
- Control waste, power consumption, compressed-air usage, and other process losses.
- Monitor production costs and departmental performance.
- Implement process improvements and standard operating procedures.

7. Safety and Housekeeping

- Ensure compliance with machine safety procedures and the use of appropriate PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping throughout the spinning department.
- Ensure machine guards and safety devices are maintained.
- Follow applicable lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance.
- Report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.

8. Reporting and Coordination

- Prepare and review daily production, quality, waste, efficiency, and downtime reports.
- Compare actual production with targets and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with Quality Control, Maintenance, Electrical, Stores, Planning, HR, and Management.
- Ensure proper shift handover and follow-up on pending production issues.
- Monitor KPIs and submit performance reports to management.

The candidate should have practical knowledge of:

- Blow Room: Mixing, opening, cleaning, contamination removal, and waste control.
- Carding: Sliver quality, neps, trash removal, and autoleveller performance.




- Draw Frame: Sliver uniformity, doubling, draft settings, and autoleveller control.
- Comber, if applicable: Noil percentage and fibre parallelization.
- Simplex / Speed Frame: Roving hank, twist, breakages, and bobbin quality.
- Ring Frame: Yarn count, twist, end breaks, spindle speed, and production efficiency.
- Autoconer / Winding: Yarn clearers, splice quality, package formation, and yarn faults.
- Packing: Lot identification, package weight, labelling, and dispatch quality.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The candidate will be responsible for achieving management-approved targets for:

- Production achievement.
- Machine efficiency and spindle utilization.
- Yarn quality and customer specifications.
- Department-wise waste and yarn realization.
- End-breakage rate and machine downtime.
- Power consumption per kilogram of yarn.
- Labour productivity and manufacturing cost.
- Customer complaints and corrective actions.
- Production schedule and delivery commitments.

Qualifications and Experience

- Diploma or Degree in Textile Technology / Textile Engineering preferred.
- Relevant experience in cotton spinning mill operations is essential.
- Strong knowledge of spinning machinery, yarn manufacturing processes, and quality control.
- Experience in production planning, manpower management, waste control, and cost reduction.
- Good leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
