· Greeting & Seating: Welcome guests warmly, escort them to their tables, and provide menus.

· Order Taking: Present menu options, explain dishes, share ingredient or allergy information, recommend specials, and record food and drink orders accurately using a POS (Point of Sale) system, order pad, or memory.

· Serving Orders: Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff, transport food and beverages to tables, and ensure presentation standards are met.

· Guest Care:

Check in periodically during the meal to ensure satisfaction, address complaints or special requests, and explicit finished or unwanted plates and glassware.

Payments & Billing: Deliver checks, process cash or credit card transactions, and handle change or receipts accurately.

· Table Maintenance & Sidework: Set up tables with linens, silverware, and glassware, wipe down surfaces, roll silverware,



and complete opening or closing duties.

· Safety & Compliance: Follow local food safety, sanitation regulations, and alcohol-serving laws (including checking IDs).

Key Skills & Qualifications

· Customer Service: A friendly, approachable demeanor and patience under pressure during peak hours.

· Communication: Clear verbal skills to interact with guests and relay kitchen tickets accurately.

· Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically preferred, though not always required.
