The candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, ensuring accurate prescriptions, maintaining pharmacy inventory, and providing appropriate medication-related guidance to patients and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately according to valid prescriptions.
- Review prescriptions for correct dosage, drug interactions, and potential medication-related issues.
- Maintain proper storage of medicines and ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, check expiry dates, and maintain inventory records.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of temperature-sensitive medicines.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication requirements.
- Counsel patients on the correct use of medicines, dosage schedules, and precautions.
- Maintain pharmacy documentation, billing records, and dispensing registers.
- Follow hospital policies, infection-control procedures, and patient-safety standards.
- Assist in procurement and replenishment of medicines and medical supplies.
