Senior Legal Specialist

What Youll Be Doing

- Employment Law Advisory: Provide clear, practical guidance on Indian employment and labour laws, including both central and state-specific regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor legislative developments and ensure timely implementation of legal and regulatory changes across the business.
- Workforce Structuring: Design and manage compliant workforce engagement models, including contractors, fixed-term employees, and contingent workforce arrangements.
- Employee Relations Support: Advise on employee lifecycle matters including disciplinary actions, resignations, terminations, investigations, and other complex employment issues.
- Policy & Contract Drafting: Draft, review, and update employment contracts, workplace policies, and employment-related documentation.
- Multi-State Compliance: Navigate varying state-level employment requirements while maintaining consistency and scalability of compliance practices.
- Legal Insight & Reporting: Track employment law trends and provide strategic insights to leadership teams to support informed business decisions.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a trusted legal advisor, assessing workforce-related risks and providing practical, solutions-focused recommendations.
- Commercial Support: Partner with sales and operational teams to assess employment risks and advise on workforce structuring during deal negotiations.
- Training & Education: Develop and deliver training sessions on employment law, compliance obligations, and best practices.




- Legal Operations Support: Assist with broader legal initiatives including entity management, licensing, governance, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Process Improvement: Drive efficiencies by implementing improvements to legal processes, workflows, and compliance frameworks.
- Contract Negotiations: Support commercial contract reviews and negotiations with a focus on employment-related and operational risks.
- Terms of Business Management: Assist in developing, maintaining, and enhancing standard terms of business and contractual documentation.
- Commercial Development: Build commercial legal expertise and progressively take ownership of contract negotiations and stakeholder engagement.

What Were Looking For

- Employment Law Expertise:



Minimum of 6 years experience specialising in employment and labour law within a law firm, in-house legal team, or a combination of both.
- Legal Qualification: Law degree (LLB or equivalent) with professional legal qualification preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Indian employment law, labour regulations, and workforce compliance frameworks.
- Drafting Skills: Excellent legal drafting capabilities across contracts, policies, and advisory documentation.
- Commercial Acumen: Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives while delivering pragmatic business solutions.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex legal and operational issues.
- Organisation & Prioritisation: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
