Bengal Iron Corporation is looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Quality Control Inspector for its machine shop, which manufactures machined cast iron (CI) and ductile iron (DI) components.

The candidate will be responsible for inspecting machined components at different stages of production, ensuring dimensional accuracy as per engineering drawings, maintaining inspection records, and coordinating with machine operators and production supervisors to resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities

1. Dimensional Inspection

- Inspect machined CI and DI components as per engineering drawings, dimensional specifications, and customer requirements.
- Perform first-piece inspection after machine setup, tool changes, and program or setting changes.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure consistent product quality.
- Verify critical dimensions, tolerances, hole positions, threads, surface finish, flatness, and other specified features.

2. Measuring Instruments

- Independently use vernier calipers, outside and inside micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, bore gauges, thread gauges, and other relevant measuring instruments.
- Select appropriate measuring instruments based on the required tolerance and component geometry.
- Ensure measuring instruments are properly handled and calibrated as per the company's calibration schedule.

3. Drawing Interpretation

- Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.
- Identify deviations from drawings and report non-conforming components.
- Maintain traceability between inspected components, inspection reports, and production batches wherever required.

4. Non-Conformance and Corrective Action

- Identify, segregate,



and report rejected or non-conforming components.
- Coordinate with machine operators and production supervisors to investigate dimensional errors and recurring defects.
- Verify reworked components before releasing them for the next operation or dispatch.
- Help reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints through timely identification of quality issues.

5. Documentation and Reporting

- Maintain first-piece inspection reports, in-process inspection records, final inspection reports, and rejection records.
- Prepare daily inspection and rejection summaries.
- Maintain records in registers or Excel, as required.
- Support internal audits and compliance with the company's quality management system.

Required Skills and Competencies

- Practical experience in dimensional inspection of machined metal components.
- Good knowledge of engineering drawings and dimensional tolerances.
- Hands-on proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to identify dimensional deviations and communicate them clearly to production personnel.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Excel or equivalent.
- Attention to detail, integrity, discipline, and a robust sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work on the shop floor and coordinate with machine operators.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in a CNC/VMC or conventional machine shop.
- Experience inspecting cast iron, ductile iron, or other machined castings.
- Familiarity with first-piece approval, in-process inspection, and final inspection.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
