Assistant Manager – Chemical Sales (Water & Wastewater Treatment)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Sales & Applications professional with strong field exposure in ETP, RO, Cooling Tower and Boiler Water Treatment Chemicals. You will visit industrial plants, understand customers' treatment systems, interact with Technical, Utility and ETP heads, and develop suitable techno-commercial solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Visit industrial plants, including outstation factories, and meet Technical Heads, Utility Heads, ETP In-charges, Plant Engineers and Purchase Teams.
- Understand existing ETP, RO, Cooling Tower and Boiler treatment systems and chemical programs.
- Identify customer problems such as scaling, corrosion, fouling, sludge settling, COD/BOD, colour and treatment efficiency.
- Recommend suitable water and wastewater treatment chemicals and the optimum dosage.
- Conduct or coordinate jar tests, plant trials and product performance evaluations.
- Provide technical support during trials and troubleshoot treatment-related issues.
- Develop new industrial customers and generate business opportunities.
- Prepare and follow up technical proposals, quotations and trials.




- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and build repeat business.
- Prepare professional plant visit, trial and performance reports.

Candidate Profile

- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Chemical Engineering, B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, or a relevant technical qualification.
- Experience: 4–5 years in water treatment chemicals, industrial water treatment or technical sales.
- Strong practical knowledge of ETP, RO, Cooling Tower and Boiler applications.
- Good understanding of water treatment chemistry and chemical dosing.
- Ability to independently handle technical discussions at customer plants.
- Strong communication, negotiation and customer-handling skills, with a techno-commercial sales orientation.
- Must be willing to travel regularly and visit outstation factories.

Preferred Background

Experience with a water treatment chemical, specialty chemical or industrial water treatment solutions company.
