Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Project Manager to oversee ship repair, refit, and maintenance projects from planning to completion. The candidate will be responsible for project execution, manpower planning, resource allocation, progress monitoring, cost control, quality assurance, safety compliance, and coordination with clients and internal departments to ensure timely project delivery within the approved budget and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, execute, monitor, and control ship repair, refit, and maintenance projects from commencement to final delivery.
- Develop project schedules, work plans, manpower requirements, and resource allocation plans in coordination with the Planning and Production teams.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Hull & Outfit, Mechanical, Electrical, Procurement, Outsourcing, Quality Control, and Safety departments.
- Monitor daily work progress against project schedules and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
- Conduct regular project review meetings, identify delays, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, vessel owners, classification societies, and other external agencies, as applicable.
- Ensure timely preparation, updating, and submission of defect lists, work completion reports, progress reports, and other project documentation.
- Monitor project budgets, material consumption, manpower utilization, subcontractor performance, and overall project costs.
- Ensure timely procurement and availability of materials, tools, equipment, and technical resources.
- Supervise outsourced activities and ensure adherence to project specifications, quality requirements, and agreed timelines.
- Identify project risks, technical challenges, and execution bottlenecks, and take appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with approved technical procedures, quality standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and shipyard regulations.




- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and final handover of vessels to clients.
- Monitor man-hours, additional work, variations, and billing-related documentation in coordination with the concerned departments.
- Provide regular project status updates to senior management and ensure accountability among project team members.

Educational Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Additional qualifications in Project Management will be an advantage.

Required Experience and Skills

- 5–10 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, vessel refit, marine engineering, or heavy engineering projects.
- Proven experience in managing projects involving mechanical, electrical, hull, outfit, and associated repair activities.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, execution, resource management, and cost control.
- Experience in handling manpower, subcontractors, vendors, and multiple project teams.
- Ability to monitor project progress using MS Excel, project tracking tools, or MS Project.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate with clients, technical teams, and external agencies.
- Knowledge of quality control, safety procedures, inspection requirements, and project documentation.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
