About Biotastic Health Systems
Biotastic Health Systems is India's premium provider of wellness and recovery infrastructure for commercial and institutional clients. Our product range — ice baths, infrared saunas, and red light therapy panels — is installed at leading gyms, luxury hotels, destination spas, corporate wellness centres, and with high-net-worth individuals across the country. We are a founder-led, fast-growing company building the recovery infrastructure layer for India's premium wellness industry.
Mission of the Role
Turn reference designs into reliable in-house cooling systems, and put in place the build, test and quality processes that let us deliver to order.
What you'll do
- Prototype development: design, assemble and test cooling system prototypes.
- Reverse engineering & improvement: study reference products and recommend cost, efficiency and reliability gains.
- Component selection: evaluate compressors, heat exchangers and controls.
- Process setup: basic assembly, testing and quality-check processes for build-to-order.
- Vendor management: sourcing, quotes and component specifications.
- Troubleshooting: prototypes and early production units.
- Documentation: builds, test results and learnings.
Must-have Vs Positive-to-have
Must-have
- Education: Degree in Mechanical / HVAC / Refrigeration Engineering.
- Refrigeration and heat transfer fundamentals: You understand the vapour-compression cycle and how superheat, subcooling, pressures and refrigerant behaviour affect performance. You can reason about heat load, flow rates and temperature differences in a cooling system,
and you know the role of each major chiller component: compressor, condenser, evaporator or heat exchanger, expansion device, pump, and refrigerant and water circuits.
- Hands-on build and troubleshooting experience: You have personally assembled, commissioned, tested and fixed HVAC or refrigeration equipment. That means brazing or piping work, leak and pressure testing, evacuation and charging, and tracing faults such as poor cooling, abnormal pressures, noise or short-cycling. You are comfortable working on the unit, not only on paper.
- Drawings, specifications and BOMs: You can read mechanical and piping drawings and turn a design into a clear component specification (capacity, ratings, dimensions, tolerances). You can also prepare a BOM that a vendor or assembler can work from without further explanation.
Good-to-have
- Reverse engineering and benchmarking: You can take a reference unit apart, map how it is built, record its components and performance, and say where cost, efficiency or reliability can be improved.
- Controls, sensors and PID tuning: You are familiar with temperature and pressure sensors, thermostats and controllers. Ideally you have tuned a PID loop to hold a stable temperature without overshoot or hunting.
- CAD (AutoCAD / SolidWorks): You can produce layouts, assembly drawings and simple 3D models to communicate and document a design.
- Assembly and QC process setup: You have created basic work instructions, test checklists, inspection points or acceptance criteria for a build line, even at a small scale.
