Job Description: Sales Officer – Loan Against Property (LAP)

Reports to: Branch Manager / Area Sales Manager
CTC: ₹3.5 – 4.5 LPA (based on experience and last drawn salary, plus incentives if applicable)

Role Summary

The Sales Officer will source and acquire recent Loan Against Property customers in the assigned Madurai micro-markets. The role covers the full sales cycle: lead generation, customer meetings, documentation, coordination with credit and legal, and disbursement.

Key Responsibilities

- Generate leads for LAP through direct sourcing, local market activity, referrals, existing customer base and channel partners (DSAs, connectors, property agents, builders).
- Meet prospective customers (self-employed individuals, small business owners, traders, salaried and professionals) to understand their funding needs and propose suitable LAP products.
- Explain loan features, eligibility, interest rates, fees and tenure clearly and transparently.
- Collect and verify KYC, income, property and other documents and log the login in the system.
- Coordinate with Credit, Legal, Technical Valuation and Operations teams for sanction and disbursement within agreed TAT.
- Conduct or support field visits to the customer's business and property premises.
- Achieve monthly sourcing and disbursement targets, with a focus on quality and portfolio health.
- Build and maintain relationships with DSAs and local channel partners.
- Track the pipeline and provide regular MIS and status updates to the reporting manager.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, RBI/NBFC guidelines, KYC norms and Fair Practices Code.
- Support post-disbursement follow-up (documents, repayment-related coordination) when required.

Eligibility & Qualifications





- Education: Graduate in any discipline (commerce or business preferred).
- Experience: 1–4 years in sales of LAP, home loans, MSME or business loans, or other secured lending with a bank or NBFC. Strong freshers with relevant financial-sales exposure may be considered.
- Location: Must be based in Madurai or know the Madurai market (areas, property pockets, local business clusters).
- Languages: Fluent in Tamil; working English preferred.
- Other: Own two-wheeler and valid driving licence.

Skills & Competencies

- Good understanding of the LAP process: property types, title and legal basics, valuation, and income assessment.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with a target-driven mindset.
- Good local network, with the ability to build DSA and connector relationships.
- Communication and customer-handling skills.
- Basic MS Office and mobile or LOS app proficiency.
- Integrity, discipline and a customer-first approach.
