# Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer ## Role Overview Nandan GSE is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is pivotal in the mechanical design, 3D modelling, detailed engineering drawings, and engineering calculations for a diverse range of products, including Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Defense systems, and other allied mechanical products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong conceptual understanding of mechanical systems, with a keen focus on manufacturability, structural integrity, and cost optimization. This position demands critical thinking, a high degree of ownership over engineering output, and a commitment to delivering innovative and robust solutions. ## Key Responsibilities * Develop comprehensive 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings primarily using SolidWorks. * Create precise manufacturing drawings incorporating GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and relevant tolerancing standards. * Design various mechanical systems, including hydraulic structures, robust load-bearing frames, complex structural assemblies, sheet metal components, and welded structures. * Ensure all designs are meticulously optimized for strength, cost-effectiveness, and ease of manufacturability. * Perform rigorous engineering calculations, including structural load analysis, stress analysis, factor of safety determination, hydraulic system design, and basic kinematics.



* Validate design performance through thorough theoretical calculations and participate in comprehensive design reviews. * Collaborate closely with the production team to ensure the practical feasibility and smooth implementation of designs. * Provide expert technical support to project teams, assisting in the resolution of complex technical challenges. * Coordinate effectively with the Production Planning & Control (PPC), Production, Procurement, and Quality departments to ensure seamless project execution. * Participate in technical discussions with vendors and customers as required, representing the engineering team. * Implement design revisions promptly based on valuable site feedback and rigorous testing results. * Maintain meticulous documentation control for all drawings and revisions, ensuring accuracy and traceability. * Ensure strict compliance with all applicable industry standards and specific client requirements. * Support the preparation of Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) documentation when necessary. ## Required Skills & Qualifications * **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design engineering. * **Technical Proficiency:** * Expertise in SolidWorks and Solid Edge for 3D Modelling and Assembly Modelling.



* Proven ability to create detailed manufacturing drawings with GD&T; and tolerancing. * Strong background in mechanical system design, including structural, hydraulic, and sheet metal components. * Proficiency in engineering calculations (structural load, stress analysis, factor of safety, hydraulic systems, kinematics). * Solid understanding of various materials and their properties. * Familiarity with fabrication processes and welding structures. * **Soft Skills:** * Strong conceptual understanding and critical thinking abilities. * High degree of ownership and accountability for engineering output. * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. * Effective communication and collaboration skills. * **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. ## Preferred Qualifications (Positive-to-Have Skills) * In-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems and their integration into mechanical designs. * Prior experience with Ground Support Equipment (GSE) or Material Handling Equipment (MHE). * Experience in heavy fabrication processes and design for heavy machinery. * Familiarity with design principles and standards for defense systems. * Experience with a wide range of industrial equipment. ## Work Location This is an **Onsite** position located in **Khalapur**. ## Application Process Interested candidates are invited to apply by submitting their resume and a cover letter detailing their relevant experience and qualifications.
