KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Design and analyze structural steel connections in accordance with applicable AISC specifications and project requirements.

· Design bolted and welded connections, including shear connections, moment connections, bracing connections, beam-to-column connections, column splices, and base plates.

· Interpret structural drawings, connection details, loading information, design criteria, and project specifications.

· Evaluate connection forces and load paths; check bolts, welds, plates, stiffeners, and other components for applicable limit states.

· Prepare clear engineering calculations, design reports, and supporting documentation.

· Identify missing or conflicting information and raise technical queries when clarification is required.

· Revise designs in response to engineering comments, project changes, and client feedback.

· Coordinate with project managers, structural engineers, steel detailers, checkers, and fabrication teams to ensure practical design solutions.

· Perform self-checks and peer reviews, maintain design records and revision histories, and complete assigned packages within agreed schedules.

Contribute to standard connection details, calculation templates, and continuous improvement initiatives

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE





· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

· Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in structural steel connection design.

· Proficiency in IDEA StatiCa software for structural steel connection design and analysis.

· Strong working knowledge of AISC specifications and US structural steel design practices.

· Practical experience with bolted and welded steel connections and relevant design limit states.

· Ability to interpret structural drawings, design criteria, loads, and project specifications.

· Experience preparing and checking engineering calculations and design documentation.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

· Demonstrated ability to explain the assumptions and limit states behind their designs.
