Company Description
Veilix AI, an NVIDIA Inception Startup, turns complex engineering drawings (P&IDs;, electrical protection and control schematics, floor plans) into energetic, machine-readable data. Our graph-based approach, built around standards like IEC 61850 and DEXPI, uses diagram scanning, AI-powered parsing, and automated signal and sensor mapping to give industrial and energy-sector clients real-time visibility into their infrastructure. We work with utilities and industrial operators to modernize legacy systems and make their engineering data usable, so protection and control knowledge stops living only in PDFs and in people's heads.
Role: Protection Relay & Testing Engineer (Telangana; Andhra Pradesh)
If you've spent real time with an OMICRON CMC 500 or CMC 356 and Test Universe, this role puts that experience at the center.
You will:
Design, configure, and test protection schemes for electrical power systems
Plan and run relay testing with OMICRON CMC hardware and Test Universe, including FAT and SAT, and build reusable test plans and templates
Read single-line diagrams, protection schematics, and coordination studies
Select and configure protective relays, and manage settings files
Analyze faults and disturbance records (COMTRADE) and troubleshoot relay and scheme issues
Prepare documentation, settings files,
and test reports for internal and external stakeholders
What you bring
Solid grounding in protection principles: overcurrent, distance, differential, and transformer protection, plus fault analysis and coordination
Hands-on experience with OMICRON CMC 500/356 and Test Universe (or comparable secondary injection test sets), including test modules such as Overcurrent, Distance, Differential, and Advanced TransPlay
Hands-on experience with relays from major vendors (Siemens, ABB, SEL, Schneider): configuration, parameter setting, and testing
Familiarity with IEC 61850 (GOOSE, SCL/CID files) and IEC/IEEE standards, plus good practice for safety and documentation
Proficiency with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or similar tools
Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, ideally with a power systems or protection focus
Comfort with site work and equipment testing alongside operations and maintenance teams
Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
Attention to detail and willingness to own your project deliverables
Why join us
You'll bring field-tested protection and testing expertise into a young deep-tech company, and help shape how that knowledge becomes structured, automated, and scalable.
