Company Description Folium Eco-drive CET is the Shell Eco-marathon team from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum, focused on designing and building ultra-efficient vehicles. The team brings together students from multiple disciplines to work on sustainable mobility solutions and advanced engineering concepts. Members collaborate in a project-based environment that emphasizes innovation, resource optimization, and environmental responsibility. Role Description The Buyer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kollam, responsible for managing the procurement of materials, components, and services required for vehicle design, prototyping, and testing. Day-to-day tasks include identifying suppliers, requesting and evaluating quotes, negotiating prices and terms, and placing purchase orders in line with project timelines and budgets. The Buyer monitors inventory levels, tracks deliveries, and coordinates with engineering, finance, and project leads to ensure the timely availability of parts and compliance with specifications.



This role also involves maintaining accurate procurement records, optimizing costs, and supporting sustainable sourcing practices aligned with the team’s eco-drive objectives.
Qualifications

- Strong skills in procurement and purchasing processes, including supplier identification, quotation analysis, and order management.
- Competence in negotiation, cost analysis, and basic budgeting to support cost-effective sourcing decisions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and project teams, with explicit communication and coordination skills.
- Attention to detail in documentation, record-keeping, and inventory tracking, with good organizational skills.
- Familiarity with mechanical or automotive components, or interest in sustainable mobility and engineering projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
- Comfort working on-site in a workshop or lab environment and managing multiple tasks within project deadlines.
- Prior experience in purchasing, student project procurement, or participation in technical teams or competitions is an advantage.
