About this role
MarketFrame refers vetted experts to micro1, an AI data lab that helps leading AI labs train and evaluate their models. This is a micro1 contract role open to physicists anywhere in the world. Shortlisted applicants will get an email from MarketFrame with a link to complete their application (a short AI interview) on micro1's platform.
Pay: $100–$200/hour
Type: Contract, fully remote, about 10–15 hours a week on your own schedule (evenings and weekends are fine)
No prior AI experience needed. Your physics expertise is what matters.

What you'll do
• Solve advanced physics problems in your specialization with rigorous, well-documented derivations
• Write accurate solutions in LaTeX, stating all assumptions, approximations and final results
• Check results symbolically or numerically with SymPy, Python and Jupyter
• Spot subtleties such as special cases, boundary conditions and dimensional consistency, and flag ambiguities




• Revise your solutions based on reviewer feedback

What we're looking for
• PhD in physics, or an advanced-stage PhD candidate with active research experience
• Research in areas such as high energy, condensed matter, AMO/quantum optics, statistical physics, quantum information, cosmology, astrophysics, gravitation, biophysics or optical properties of materials
• 2–5 recent publications (last ~5 years) with arXiv or DOI links
• Comfortable with LaTeX and Python/SymPy/Jupyter
• Available about 10 hours a week for 8–10 weeks
