About Us
At SoCoffee, we’re building a new way to connect Indian coffee from farm to cup. Through SoCoffee and The Coorg Coffee Club, we work across specialty coffee processing, products, experiences, and storytelling to bring more of India’s coffee to people in India and around the world.
The Coorg Coffee Club is our technology-driven specialty coffee processing platform in Coorg, working with small and mid-sized estates to unlock the potential of every harvest through science, precision, and innovation.
We’re backed by a group of well-known founders and entrepreneurs, including Shradha Sharma (YourStory), Naveen Tewari (InMobi & Glance), Ankit Agrawal and Ish Babbar (InsuranceDekho), among others.
Our first coffee kiosk is live at InMobi HQ in Bangalore. As a technology-forward company, InMobi was a natural fit for our first kiosk, bringing our coffee to a like-minded, tech-driven community.
We’re a young, growing team building at the intersection of coffee, content, and technology, and there’s plenty to build, organise, and execute along the way.
About the Role
This Operations role blends planning, coordination, and hands-on execution.
You’ll help keep the day-to-day operations running smoothly, working across people, vendors, supplies, logistics, and on-ground activities. From coordinating deliveries and managing inventory to supporting coffee experiences & events, you'll ensure operational details don’t fall through the cracks and turn plans into action.
You’ll work closely with the team, often moving between different locations across Bangalore to get things done. This role requires someone who can plan ahead, stay organised, solve problems on the go, and see things through.
You’ll also be expected to learn how the coffee supply chain works, understand the different moving parts of our business, and use that knowledge to make better operational decisions.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who enjoys being out in the field as much as keeping things organised behind the scenes. We’re looking for a doer who can think ahead, figure things out, and make things happen.
What This Role Requires
1. A get-things-done attitude
You’re action-oriented and take tasks from start to finish. You don’t wait for repeated follow-ups or instructions at every step. You figure out what needs to happen, coordinate with the people involved, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure things get done. If something is blocked, you find a way forward rather than letting it sit.
2. Integrity and trustworthiness
You’re honest, dependable, and transparent in how you work.
You handle money, inventory, information, and relationships responsibly. You communicate problems rather than hide them, own up to mistakes, and do the right thing even when nobody is watching. We need someone we can trust to manage responsibilities independently and exercise sound judgement on the ground.
3. Planning, organisation, and record-keeping
You can work backwards from a deadline, anticipate requirements, and plan the people, materials, transport, and timelines needed to execute a task. You’re disciplined about maintaining records, tracking inventory, documenting expenses, updating spreadsheets, and keeping information accurate and accessible. You understand that good operations depend on planning ahead and tracking the details.
4. On-ground execution and mobility
You’re comfortable being out in the field, visiting vendors, coordinating pickups and deliveries, sourcing supplies, and resolving issues in person. The role involves regular travel across Bangalore and to Coorg, Hassan, and Mysore, as required. Having your own vehicle is a strong advantage.
5. Communication and coordination
You’re comfortable speaking to vendors, growers, delivery partners, customers, and other stakeholders. You follow up clearly, set expectations, keep people informed, and ensure commitments are met. Conversational fluency in Kannada or Tamil is important for effective on-ground coordination.
6. Willingness to learn the coffee business inside out
You don’t need to know the coffee supply chain on day one, but you need to be willing to get into the deep end and learn. You’re curious about how coffee moves from estate to customer and want to understand the people, processes, and moving parts well enough to operate efficiently and make informed decisions.
7. Resourcefulness and problem-solving
You’re comfortable working in a fast-moving startup where processes are still being built. You can handle unexpected issues calmly, make sensible decisions within your responsibilities, and identify recurring problems that need better systems. You’re comfortable with spreadsheets, documentation, and basic digital tools, and can help build straightforward, reliable processes that make the business run more efficiently.
What You’ll Work On
- Day-to-day operations: Coordinate activities across the business and ensure operational requirements are handled on time.
- Inventory and procurement: Track stock, coordinate replenishment, source supplies,
and maintain accurate records.
- Vendor and stakeholder management: Coordinate with growers, vendors, delivery partners, and service providers to ensure timelines, deliveries, payments, and commitments are met.
- Logistics and fieldwork: Handle pickups, deliveries, travel, and other on-ground requirements across Bangalore and coffee-growing regions as needed.
- Experiences and events: Help plan and execute coffee experiences, pop-ups, corporate engagements, and other business activities.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain trackers for expenses, purchases, inventory, deliveries, and operational activities. Flag discrepancies and communicate issues early.
- Process improvement: Identify operational gaps, anticipate recurring needs, and build systems that improve efficiency, accountability, and execution.
Who You Are
- You have 0–2 years of experience, or you’re looking to build a career in operations.
- You’re organised, dependable, and comfortable juggling multiple tasks.
- You can communicate confidently with different kinds of people and follow through on commitments.
- You’re comfortable with spreadsheets, documentation, and basic digital tools.
- You speak conversational Kannada or Tamil.
- You’re willing to travel around Bangalore regularly for work. A personal vehicle is preferred.
- You’re willing to learn the coffee supply chain in depth, even if you’re new to the industry.
- You’re comfortable with a six-day, in-office working environment and the demands of a growing startup.
Prior experience in operations, logistics, hospitality, events, retail, or field coordination is a plus, but we value resourcefulness, reliability, and execution ability over a particular degree or job title.
You’ll Enjoy This Role If
- You like making things happen rather than only discussing how they should happen.
- You enjoy coordinating people, solving practical problems, and bringing order to moving parts.
- You take satisfaction in knowing things run smoothly because you made sure they do.
- You’re comfortable with a mix of desk work, fieldwork, and last-minute problem-solving.
- You’re curious about how businesses work end to end and enjoy learning the details behind a product.
- You want to work closely with a founding team and help build operational systems from the ground up.
Working with Us
We’re a six-day-a-week, in-office team based in Indiranagar and Bellandur, Bangalore. We believe the best work happens through collaboration, context, and shared purpose.
Expect a warm, hands-on, fast-paced environment where people take ownership, learn by doing, and care deeply about the quality of both the work and the product.
If you enjoy planning, organising, learning how things work, and getting things done on the ground, we’d love to hear from you.
