Roles & Responsibilities

- Design and implement moderately complex backend features with minimal supervision.
- Contribute to system design discussions and provide input on architecture decisions.
- Actively use AI coding assistants such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor to accelerate development, write tests, review code, and debug issues.
- Leverage AI tools to reduce boilerplate, iterate quickly, and deliver production-ready code efficiently.
- Evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and compliance with team standards before merging.
- Debug and troubleshoot technical issues and implement well-reasoned solutions.
- Own business-critical production components, including connectors, customer escalations, security fixes, bug fixes, and end-to-end feature development.
- Build and maintain scalable backend systems that handle millions of events and data points daily.
- Develop and maintain database integrations using JDBC and related technologies.

Ideal Candidate

- Profile: Strong Backend Software Engineer with deep expertise in Core Java.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on backend software engineering experience.
- Feature Ownership: Ability to independently design and implement moderately complex features and contribute to system design and architecture discussions.
- Production Ownership: Experience maintaining business-critical production components, resolving customer escalations, handling security fixes, and developing features end-to-end.
- Core Java: Robust,



up-to-date Core Java knowledge and solid coding fundamentals. Core engineering expertise is more important than framework knowledge.
- Backend Engineering: Strong backend fundamentals and experience building scalable systems, including high-volume data processing and connector integrations.
- AI Coding Tools: Demonstrated daily use of Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI coding assistants for development, testing, code review, and debugging, with the ability to write effective prompts and critically evaluate AI-generated code.
- Database: Hands-on experience with database integration and JDBC in a production environment.
- Company Background: Experience working at a product company, including B2B SaaS or B2C businesses.
- Contract & Joining: Must be comfortable with a 3-month contract and available to join immediately, ideally within one week.
- Location: Must be based in or near Chennai, Bangalore, or Ahmedabad. The Chennai work arrangement is hybrid, with office attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Preferred AI Experience: Experience building and deploying AI/LLM-powered features in production, such as RAG systems, LLM-based scoring, or AI assistants.
- Preferred Python Skills: Hands-on Python experience is an advantage.
- Microservices: Experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Strong backend engineering and JDBC/driver integration experience are prioritized.

Additional Information

- The engineer will own business-critical components and services that power key customer use cases.
