Manager / Deputy Manager - Manufacturing Engineering (ME NPD) - 7+ Years - Hoshiarpur

We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering - New Product Development (ME NPD) professional to support the introduction of new and modified products into domestic manufacturing operations. The role focuses on prototype builds, assembly process planning, engineering change management, manufacturing documentation, and production-line readiness. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in assembly engineering, preferably within the automotive, tractor, or heavy equipment industry.

Responsibilities

Plan and support prototype builds, identify assembly issues, document observations, and coordinate corrective feedback with Product Design and R&D; teams.

Implement New Product Introduction (NPI) and engineering changes (ECN/EDN) on the assembly line, ensuring manufacturing processes and technical documentation remain aligned.

Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operation standards, and Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs) for assembly operations.

Plan and optimise transmission, diesel engine, and vehicle assembly processes, supporting PPAP, PFMEA, and DFA/DMU reviews to identify potential manufacturing and assembly issues.

Coordinate with Design/R&D;, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Projects, suppliers, and assembly teams to deliver validation reports, updated documentation, and facility-readiness plans within timelines.

Requirements





7+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Process Engineering, or New Product Introduction (NPI), preferably in automotive, tractor, or heavy equipment manufacturing.

Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related discipline.

Hands-on experience in NPI, prototype builds, product validation, ECN/EDN implementation, and MBOM management.

Strong knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, DFA/DMU, SOP preparation, and assembly process planning, preferably covering transmission, vehicle, and diesel engine assembly.

Strong problem-solving, communication, cross-functional coordination, planning, and team leadership skills, with the ability to manage engineering deliverables and deadlines.

Important: This is a Manufacturing Engineering and NPD execution role, not a purely product-design or R&D; role. Candidates should have practical experience ensuring products can be assembled efficiently on the production line, from prototype validation through start of production.
