Key Responsibilities & Clinical Duties

- Outpatient & Diagnostic Evaluations: Conduct OPD consultations for flank pain, hematuria (blood in urine), voiding difficulties, recurrent UTIs, and scrotal/pelvic swellings. Order and interpret urodynamics, cystoscopies, biopsies, CT scans, and ultrasounds. [1, 2, 3]
- Operative & Surgical Management: Perform major open, laparoscopic, and robotic-assisted urological procedures, including:
- Endourology for kidney and ureteric stones (PCNL, URS, laser lithotripsy)
- Prostate interventions (TURP, laser enucleation)
- Reconstructive urology (urethral stricture repairs, hypospadias, fistula repair)
- Onco-urology (radical nephrectomy, cystectomy, prostatectomy) [1, 2]

- Emergency Handling: Manage acute urological crises such as acute urinary retention, obstructed/infected kidneys,



testicular torsion, and genitourinary trauma. [1]
- Stent & Follow-up Management: Place, track, and timely remove or exchange DJ stents, keeping meticulous digital/physical logs. [1]
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate closely with nephrologists for renal replacement/dialysis support, medical/radiation oncologists for cancer staging, and radiologists. [1]
- Academic & Research Role: If positioned in a teaching or tertiary care institute (like Kasturba Medical College), supervise junior residents, participate in surgical audits, and conduct clinical research
