Role & responsibilities

Billing and Cash Handling

- Prepare accurate bills for food and beverage orders.

- Collect payments through cash, debit/credit cards, UPI, and other approved payment methods.

- Issue receipts to customers for every transaction.

- Verify cash received and return the correct change.

- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately in the billing system.

1. POS and Billing System Management

- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for billing and order processing.

- Enter food orders and apply approved discounts, offers, and promotions.

- Ensure correct pricing, taxes, and service charges are applied as applicable.

- Coordinate with kitchen staff to resolve billing or order discrepancies.

- Report POS or billing system issues to the concerned department.

1. Cash Reconciliation and Reporting

- Maintain accurate records of daily cash collections and digital payments.

- Reconcile cash, card, and UPI transactions at the end of each shift.

- Prepare daily sales and cash closing reports.

- Report cash shortages, excess amounts, refunds, or discrepancies to the supervisor.

- Submit collected cash and transaction records to the authorized person.

1. Customer Service





- Greet customers politely and handle billing inquiries professionally.

- Explain menu prices, available payment options, and applicable offers.

- Resolve minor billing issues and escalate complaints when necessary.

- Maintain accuracy and efficiency during peak business hours.

- Ensure a smooth and pleasant checkout experience for customers.

1. Coordination with Other Departments

- Coordinate with service staff, kitchen staff, and restaurant supervisors regarding orders and billing.

- Verify order details before generating bills.

- Inform the concerned team about cancelled orders, refunds, and payment failures.

- Support the operations team in maintaining smooth daily restaurant activities.

1. Food Industry Hygiene and Workplace Standards

- Maintain a clean and organized cashier counter.

- Follow food establishment hygiene and workplace safety procedures.

- Keep food items and beverages away from cash-handling and billing equipment.

- Follow company policies for personal grooming, uniforms, and skilled conduct.
