Role The Assistant Nursing Superintendent assists the Nursing Superintendent in managing nursing services and ensuring quality patient care in the hospital.

Responsibilities

1. Supervise and guide nursing staff.
2. Ensure quality nursing care and patient safety.
3. Prepare and monitor duty rosters.
4. Maintain staff discipline and attendance.
5. Ensure proper maintenance of nursing records and reports.
6. Monitor the availability of medicines, equipment, and supplies.
7. Ensure infection control and hygiene practices.
8. Organize staff training and educational programmes.
9. Coordinate with doctors and other hospital departments.
10. Implement hospital policies and nursing procedures.
11. Assist in emergency and disaster management.
12. Report nursing-related problems to the Nursing Superintendent.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Educational Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing; M.Sc. Nursing is desirable.
2. Registration:



Valid registration with the State Nursing Council.
3. Experience: Relevant clinical and nursing administrative experience as per institutional rules.
4. Leadership Skills: Ability to supervise, guide, and motivate nursing staff.
5. Administrative Skills: Knowledge of duty rosters, staff management, and hospital administration.
6. Clinical Knowledge: Good understanding of nursing procedures, patient safety, and infection control.
7. Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Problem-Solving: Ability to handle emergencies, resolve conflicts, and make decisions.
9. Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of hospital information systems and documentation.
10. Skilled Ethics: Commitment to patient confidentiality, discipline, teamwork, and quality nursing care.
