About the Role
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented QA/QC Engineer with strong manual testing fundamentals and a genuine interest in AI-assisted testing and automation.
You will work closely with our product and development teams to ensure that features work as intended, identify defects before they affect users, and continuously improve product reliability.
AI is a central part of our testing approach. You will use tools such as Claude to analyze requirements, generate test scenarios, identify edge cases, develop and improve automated tests, investigate defects, and strengthen test coverage.
Beyond using AI to generate test cases, you should understand how to provide the right context, requirements, test data, and expected results to produce reliable outputs. You must also be able to critically evaluate AI-generated tests and independently validate their results.
We value practical QA judgment and the ability to use AI effectively more than extensive experience with traditional automation frameworks alone.
Key Responsibilities
1. AI-Assisted Testing and Automation
- Use AI tools, particularly Claude, to support test planning, requirement analysis, test case generation, and edge-case identification.
- Leverage AI to create, refine, debug, and improve automated test scripts where appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to reduce repetitive manual testing and improve test coverage through AI-assisted automation.
- Provide AI tools with relevant requirements, application context, test data, and expected results to improve testing accuracy.
- Review and independently validate AI-generated test cases, scripts, and results to identify gaps, incorrect assumptions, and unreliable outputs.
- Continuously explore ways to make testing more efficient, consistent, and effective through AI.
2. Manual Testing and Quality Assurance
- Analyze product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to develop meaningful test scenarios.
- Perform functional, exploratory, regression, and negative testing.
- Identify edge cases, unexpected behavior, usability issues, and potential product risks.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure new changes do not break existing functionality.
- Apply independent judgment to determine when manual testing, automation, or a combination of both is most appropriate.
3. Defect Reporting and Collaboration
- Document and report defects with explicit reproduction steps, expected versus actual results, and supporting evidence.
- Investigate unexpected behavior and use available tools, including AI, to support troubleshooting.
- Work closely with developers and product stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Communicate testing progress, blockers, defects, and quality risks clearly and promptly.
- Maintain accurate testing documentation and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of manual software testing and QA fundamentals.
- Ability to design effective test cases and identify edge cases beyond standard user scenarios.
- Familiarity with AI tools, particularly Claude,
and an understanding of how they can support software testing.
- Comfort using AI to generate, refine, troubleshoot, or improve automated tests.
- Ability to provide appropriate context to AI tools and independently verify their outputs.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn new tools quickly, adapt to changing requirements, and take ownership of product quality.
- Basic understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
Preferred Qualifications The following are advantageous but not mandatory:
- Experience with test automation tools or frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Basic programming or scripting knowledge.
- Familiarity with API testing, browser developer tools, and bug-tracking platforms.
- Experience testing web applications or working with AI-assisted QA workflows.
- Exposure to automated test execution and CI/CD workflows.
What We Value Most
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of product quality rather than simply executing predefined test cases.
The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, adaptable, and comfortable experimenting with AI to improve how testing is performed. You should be able to question assumptions, identify potential failures, communicate findings clearly, and validate results independently.
Our hiring priorities are:
- AI-assisted testing and automation: The ability to use AI effectively to improve test creation, coverage, and automation.
- Manual testing fundamentals: A sound understanding of testing principles and practical QA skills.
- Analytical thinking: The ability to investigate issues, identify edge cases, and anticipate potential failures.
- AI validation and judgment: The ability to assess AI-generated tests and results critically rather than relying on them blindly.
- Communication and adaptability: The ability to work collaboratively and respond effectively to evolving requirements.
Traditional automation experience is a plus, not a prerequisite. We prioritize strong QA fundamentals and the ability to use AI intelligently to improve testing effectiveness.
Expectation: 35–40 hrs/wk as the role and Wondrfly grow.
