About the Role

Job Scope To ensure the stable and secure operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly passive infrastructure, network infrastructure, data communications.

Total /Relevant Experience 5+ years of experience in passive cabling work.

Responsibilities

- Assist in designing and implementing structured cabling systems in the data center environment.
- Create and review overhead and under-ground/floor cable pathway designs for infrastructure cabling.
- Work on RFP and prepare cabling BOQ based on details outline in RFP.
- Design and implementation of basket tray and fiber runner.
- Develop and maintain standards and best practices for cabling, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g. TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC).
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute cabling projects.




- Prepare detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
- Ensure that all cabling work, including rack, pathway and termination work is performed according to design and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to cabling, including signal loss and connectivity problems.
- Ensure accurate documentation of cable routes, termination points, and testing results.
- Prepare reports on project status, performance metrics and any issues encountered during installation or maintenance.
- Ensure that all cabling work complies with data center safety and security protocols.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Assess current cabling infrastructure and plan for future expansion and upgrades.
- Support cross-functional initiatives and contribute to overall data center performance and reliability.
- Act as the escalation point for complex cabling-related issues that cannot be resolved by lower-level support.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff members on best practices in passive cabling.
- Follow & commit with Yotta’s Policy statements (e.g. QMS/EMS/OHS/ISMS/ITSM/BCMS/EnMS etc.).
- Undertake applicable training as communicated from time to time.




- Understand the organization’s expectations towards all management systems the company is certified for.
- Participation in Risk assessment process, contribute to achieving departmental & management system objectives.
- Adhere to confidentiality policy to safeguard sensitive company information, maintain trust with clients and partners, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Perform their duties in the event of emergency as per roles in ERP/BCMS plan.
- Assist in maintaining PIMS controls throughout personal data lifecycle.

- Hands on Experience on Various kinds of Testing Equipment. Such as JDSU ANT-5 SDH Tester, Ethernet Tester, OTDR, Optical Laser Source, Optical Power meter, Multimeter, Sunrise & PC based E1 tester etc.
- Ability to work to deadlines and SLAs
- Positive communication, problem resolution and decision-making skills
- Copper cable termination and fibre cable laying.
- Jack panel and patch panel termination.
- I/O termination, cabling and rack dressing.
- Testing of copper and fibre cables using Fluke meters and other testing tools.
- Fibre splicing and OTDR testing.
- Practical, hands-on experience working in a data centre environment.
- Experience using ticketing tools for incident management and work tracking.
