- Lead preparation and review of design and fabrication drawings for evaporators, vacuum systems and ZLD plants, ensuring full compliance with design and process specifications. - - Own drawing accuracy — minimize drawing errors, prevent errors that trigger BOM changes, and control the frequency of drawing revisions.
- Ensure drawings are approved and released to fabrication/procurement within the defined turnaround time (TAT) to support project schedules.
- Support the Proposal/Sales team with timely costing drawings and cost estimation submissions for tenders and quotations.
- Prepare and validate cost estimates for projects, keeping deviation between estimated and actual project cost within approved limits to protect project margins.
- Prepare and validate weight/MTO (Material Take-Off) estimates, ensuring deviation between estimated and actual weight stays within approved limits for correct material planning.
- Own BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and MTO accuracy to prevent material shortages or excess inventory during execution. -Design,
plan and deliver structured on-the-job training for recent design/drawing team members covering drawing practices, BOM preparation and estimation methods.
- Undertake site visits as required to support design validation, troubleshooting and execution, and submit timely site visit reports.
- Drive standardization and value engineering — build and expand a library of reusable standard drawings to reduce design cycle time and cost.
- Maintain traceable, audit-ready engineering documentation and drawing records; ensure zero major nonconformities in internal/external audits.
- Coordinate with procurement, fabrication, project management and site teams to resolve design-related queries and support smooth execution.
- Review and mentor the design, drawing and estimation team; allocate work, monitor quality and build team capability.
