We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Validation Engineer with experience in software testing, functional validation, and integration testing.

The role focuses on validating software used to configure, commission, and monitor merging units and substation automation devices.

The ideal candidate will have strong debugging and analytical skills, with an understanding of IEC 61850 communication workflows and a commitment to software quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities :

- Execute functional, integration, compatibility, and regression testing for software used in merging-unit configuration and substation automation.
- Validate IEC 61850 engineering workflows, including SCD imports, device configurations, and generated SCL/CID files and configuration bundles.
- Test software functionality related to device configuration, commissioning, monitoring, and communication with substation automation devices.
- Validate communication workflows involving IEC 61850 protocols, including GOOSE messaging and Sampled Values.
- Analyze test failures, application logs, and network traffic to identify defects and investigate root causes.
- Document defects with clear reproduction steps, test evidence, logs, and expected versus actual results.
- Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and verify fixes.
- Develop, maintain, and execute test cases, test scenarios, regression suites, and requirements traceability documentation.




- Maintain accurate test results and communicate testing progress, quality risks, and unresolved issues to stakeholders.
- Contribute to test automation and improvements in test coverage, validation processes, and testing efficiency.
- Support release validation and ensure that software meets defined functional, integration, and quality requirements.

Required Skills &

Experience :

- 5 - 10 years of experience in software testing, validation, quality assurance, or system-level testing.
- Strong understanding of functional, integration, compatibility, and regression testing methodologies.
- Experience creating test cases, executing test plans, documenting defects, and validating fixes.
- Ability to analyze application logs, test results, and network traffic for troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Familiarity with configuration-based software workflows, device settings, and data validation.
- Understanding of IEC 61850 standards and substation automation concepts, or the ability to learn these domain-specific technologies.
- Familiarity with SCL-related files and workflows, including SCD and CID configuration files.
- Understanding of network communication concepts and protocols; exposure to GOOSE and Sampled Values is beneficial.
- Robust analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
