Role: Software Tester

Location: Chennai, India (Hybrid 3days/ week)

Duties and Responsibilities

This role supports the testing and validation of custom applications and acts as a key contributor to ensuring software quality across development initiatives. The Software Tester works closely with development scrum team and business stakeholders to validate requirements, identify defects, and support delivery of high-quality solutions.

This position includes both manual and automated testing responsibilities, with a focus on improving test efficiency and coverage through automation.

- Performs functional, system, integration, and regression testing for new and existing applications
- Develops, executes, and maintains test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements
- Designs, develops, and maintains automated test cases and test scripts to support regression and continuous testing
- Utilizes automated testing tools and frameworks to execute test cycles and improve testing efficiency
- Participates in Agile delivery processes, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews
- Works closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria
- Identifies, documents, and tracks defects, ensuring proper validation and resolution




- Supports integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes
- Performs data validation and supports testing of system integrations across enterprise applications
- Assists with test workplace setup, test data management, and release validation activities
- Establishes priorities and manages assigned testing tasks to meet project timelines
- Applies judgment and problem-solving skills to identify testing gaps and improve overall quality processes

Required Education and Experience

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
- Experience in software testing, including both manual and automated testing
- Hands-on experience creating and maintaining automated test cases and scripts
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks
- Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualification

- Experience with CI/CD tools and integrating automated testing into pipelines
- Experience with API testing tools
- Familiarity with performance or load testing tools
- Experience supporting cloud-based applications, particularly in Microsoft Azure
- Exposure to enterprise application ecosystems and system integrations
