About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the software systems that power The Robotics Ledger’s digital platform, research capabilities, and internal workflows.

The successful candidate will contribute to backend services, APIs, data processing systems, platform integrations, and automation tools. You will write reliable, maintainable code, improve system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate with editorial, research, and product teams to develop scalable digital solutions.

This role is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, building efficient backend systems, and applying modern software engineering practices in a technology-focused media environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, and application components.
- Build and optimize database structures, data processing pipelines, and content management integrations.
- Develop scalable and reliable systems to support digital publishing, research workflows, and platform operations.
- Write clean, modular, well-documented,



and maintainable code following established engineering standards.
- Implement automated testing, debugging, performance monitoring, and error-handling practices.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members to improve software quality and development workflows.
- Integrate third-party APIs, cloud services, AI tools, and other technologies into existing systems.
- Support workflow automation, data collection, content operations, and internal productivity tools.
- Apply security best practices to application development, data handling, authentication, and access control.
- Contribute to deployment pipelines, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and production troubleshooting.
- Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with editors, researchers, data specialists, and product stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software design principles.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language, such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Go.
- Hands-on experience developing backend applications, REST APIs, and server-side services.
- Working knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases, including database design, queries, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Git,



version control, branching strategies, and collaborative software development workflows.
- Understanding of software testing, debugging, error handling, and application security fundamentals.
- Ability to develop modular, reusable, and maintainable software components.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to code quality and technical detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Flask, Node.js, Express, or comparable technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Docker, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
- Knowledge of frontend technologies and full-stack application development.
- Experience integrating AI APIs, language models, webhooks, or third-party services.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, web scraping, workflow automation, or content management systems.
- Understanding of application monitoring, logging, caching, scalability, and distributed systems.
- Interest in robotics, AI, automation, advanced manufacturing, or emerging engineering technologies.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual Salary: ₹8,00,000–₹15,00,000 INR (₹8–15 LPA), depending on experience, technical expertise, and qualifications.
