Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Reviewer – US Accounting (Nonprofit Organizations) to review accounting records, month-end closing activities, reconciliations, and financial reports for US-based nonprofit organizations.The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, grant management, and financial statement review, along with the ability to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of client engagements.Key Responsibilities

- Review month-end closing workpapers, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Review nonprofit financial statements, including the Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, and Statement of Functional Expenses.
- Verify the classification and reporting of donor-restricted and unrestricted net assets.
- Review grant revenue, donor contributions, pledges, deferred revenue, and fundraising transactions.
- Review expense allocation across programs, management, and fundraising activities.
- Review bank, credit card, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and other balance sheet reconciliations.
- Analyze financial results, investigate unusual balances, and resolve discrepancies.




- Ensure compliance with applicable US accounting standards, grant agreements, and internal control procedures.
- Document review findings and provide technical guidance and constructive feedback to accounting staff.
- Support board financial reporting, audit schedules, and annual compliance deliverables.
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities with the accounting team.
- Manage multiple nonprofit client accounts while maintaining high standards of accuracy and turnaround time.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- CA, CPA, CMA, or an equivalent skilled accounting qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including hands-on review responsibilities.
- Prior experience with US-based nonprofit organizations is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, restricted funds, and grant tracking.
- Practical experience in month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement review.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quality-control skills.
- Excellent communication and team coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience reviewing financial statements for US nonprofit organizations.
- Knowledge of grant accounting, donor contributions, restricted funds, and grant compliance.




- Understanding of functional expense allocation and nonprofit financial reporting.
- Experience with budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis.
- Ability to mentor accounting staff and manage multiple client engagements.
