Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to own the order-to-delivery cycle, from mill coordination and logistics to dispatch and inventory, and to lead the team that delivers every order on time, at the right quality and cost.

Key Responsibilities

1. Order Fulfilment & Supply Chain

- Coordinate order execution with mills, suppliers, and customers.
- Track order status, dispatch schedules, and delivery timelines.
- Resolve delays, shortages, and escalations quickly.

2. Logistics & Warehousing

- Manage transporters, freight rates, and vehicle planning.
- Oversee warehouse and stock operations with accurate inventory tracking.
- Reduce transit losses, damages, and detention costs.

3. Quality, Compliance & Documentation

- Verify material quality and test certificates; handle complaints and claims.
- Ensure GST, e-way bill, and invoicing compliance.




- Maintain accurate dispatch and delivery records.

4. Process Improvement & Cost Control

- Design and improve SOPs and drive ERP adoption.
- Identify savings in freight, handling, and inventory.
- Coordinate with sales, finance, and procurement teams.

5. Team Leadership & Reporting

- Lead, train, and set targets for the operations team.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Present KPIs and risks to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

- Graduate in Engineering, Commerce, or Supply Chain; MBA preferred.
- 6+ years in operations, logistics, or supply chain, including team handling.
- Experience in steel, metals, manufacturing, or trading is preferred.

Skills

- ERP or order management systems (Tally, SAP, Zoho, or similar) and advanced Excel.
- Inventory and logistics planning; knowledge of GST and e-way bill.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Leadership ability and a strong sense of ownership in a fast-paced office.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- On-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery rate

- Order turnaround time

- Freight cost per tonne
- Inventory accuracy and loss or damage rate
