About Poorna Learning Centre
Poorna Learning Centre is an alternative school near Bagalur Cross, North Bengaluru, committed to nurturing curious, independent and responsible learners. Our learner-centred approach integrates academic learning with creativity, hands-on exploration and social-emotional development.
We strive to create an inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to learn, question, experiment and grow. We welcome educators who are passionate about meaningful learning and enjoy working collaboratively in a close-knit school community.
About the Role
We are looking for a Secondary Science Teacher with a strong grounding in science, particularly physics and chemistry, and a passion for making learning engaging and relevant.
The role involves planning and teaching science lessons, facilitating experiments and hands-on activities, assessing student learning, and providing constructive feedback. You will adapt your teaching to diverse learning needs, collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, and contribute to the wider life of the school.
At Poorna, teaching goes beyond textbooks and prescribed syllabi. We value educators who encourage curiosity, connect concepts to everyday life,
and are keen to develop curriculum collaboratively. You will have the opportunity to experiment with teaching approaches, learn alongside colleagues, and help students develop conceptual understanding, critical thinking and a spirit of inquiry.
What We’re Looking For
- A strong subject foundation in science, particularly physics and chemistry.
- A degree in Science, Education or a related field; a teaching qualification is preferred.
- Experience teaching secondary-level learners.
- The ability to design engaging lessons, practical activities and meaningful assessments.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, including working with students, families and colleagues.
- A commitment to inclusive, learner-centred education and the holistic development of children.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to create a secure, supportive and stimulating learning environment.
Familiarity with Indian school curricula and experience in alternative or progressive education settings would be an advantage.
- If you enjoy helping students understand the world through questioning, exploration and experimentation, and would like to be part of a school that values thoughtful, collaborative teaching, we would love to hear from you.
