Job Purpose To operate seam welding and spot-welding machines for joining metal components as per approved drawings, work instructions, quality standards, and production targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate spot welding and seam welding machines as per production requirements.

- Set and adjust welding parameters, including welding current, time, electrode pressure, and speed, as authorized.

- Perform welding operations on sheet metal components as per drawings and work instructions.

- Check material fit-up, component alignment, and electrode condition before welding.

- Ensure weld strength, consistency, appearance, and dimensional accuracy.

- Inspect welded components for defects such as weak welds, burn marks, cracks, expulsion, incomplete welding, and misalignment.

- Conduct visual inspections and perform destructive or other weld tests as per the inspection plan.

- Maintain production output and quality as per daily targets.

- Follow approved process parameters and report abnormalities to the supervisor or quality team.

- Perform routine machine checks, electrode cleaning, tip dressing, and basic preventive maintenance.

- Maintain production records, rejection records, and machine check sheets.

- Follow 5S, safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures where applicable.

- Coordinate with the quality, maintenance,



and production teams to minimize rejection and downtime.

Qualification

- ITI / NCVT / relevant technical qualification preferred.

- Candidates with relevant welding or manufacturing experience may also be considered.

Experience

- 1–3 years of experience in spot welding and/or seam welding in an automotive, sheet metal, or fabrication industry.

- Freshers may be considered for trainee positions.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of spot welding and seam welding processes.

- Ability to understand basic engineering drawings and work instructions.

- Knowledge of welding parameters and common welding defects.

- Basic knowledge of measuring instruments and quality inspection.

- Machine operation, troubleshooting, and defect identification skills.

- Awareness of workplace safety, 5S, and quality systems.

- Production target achievement.

- Weld quality and rejection rate.

- Machine utilization and downtime.

- Compliance with welding parameters and work instructions.

- Safety, 5S, and maintenance compliance.

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹37,000.00 per month
