Required Qualifications
Salesforce Ecosystem (Non-Negotiable)
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce DX (SFDX / SF CLI), including sfdx-project.json configuration, package directory management, and SF CLI command fluency.
- Proven experience with Salesforce package-based deployments unlocked packages and/or org dependent packages including versioning, dependency management, and installation sequencing.
- Understanding of module-level code classification in Salesforce DX — how metadata is organized, classified, and deployed per package or module boundary.
- Familiarity with Salesforce release lifecycle including seasonal upgrades (Spring, Summer, Winter) and environment-level validation windows.
- Exposure to Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Flow metadata — you do not need to build them, but you must understand how they package and deploy.
DevOps & CI/CD
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with GitHub Actions — workflow authoring, reusable actions, composite actions, YAML / Shell scripting and secrets management.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement multi-stage quality gates across a CI/CD promotion pipeline — not just checks at merge, but environment-specific gates that escalate in strictness from TEST through to PROD.
- Proven experience embedding static analysis, code coverage enforcement, metadata validation, and security scanning as hard pipeline gates — not advisory warnings.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot GitHub Actions failures in depth — workflow logic errors, Salesforce deployment issues, token/secret resolution failures, and environment access conflicts.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and environment configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) for self-hosted runner environments.
GitHub Platform Administration (Non-Negotiable)
- Strong hands-on experience managing GitHub organizations — repositories, teams, member roles, outside collaborators, and org-level permission policies.
- Deep expertise configuring branch protection rules, required status checks, CODEOWNERS, and merge queue settings.
- Proficiency managing GitHub tokens (PATs, fine-grained tokens, GitHub Apps), environment secrets, and service account credentials using a least-privilege model.
- Proven experience diagnosing and resolving GitHub Actions environment issues — including runner config issues, rate limit errors, cross-repository access failures, and runner misconfiguration.
- Familiarity with GitHub audit logs, security alerts, and access review processes for compliance-driven projects.
Scripting & Tooling
- Robust scripting skills in YAML/Bash/Shell and/or Python for pipeline automation, package deployment orchestration, and GitHub API interactions.
- Comfort working with JSON/XML/YAML — including Salesforce metadata files, sfdx-project.json, and GitHub Actions workflow syntax.
- Experience with SFDX-Git-Delta for diff-based deployments is a plus; must understand when delta vs. full package deployments are appropriate.
- Must understand when to apply Source deployments, Diff deployments and package deployments in the Salesforce eco system.
AI Fluency & Code Assist (Non-Negotiable Mindset)
- Demonstrable use of AI code assist tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent) in day-to-day engineering work — not occasional experimentation, but habitual use.
- Working familiarity with large language models (GPT-4, Claude, Gemini, or similar) for engineering tasks: debugging pipelines, writing documentation, generating scripts, and exploring solutions.
- Awareness of agentic AI concepts and workflow automation — understanding how LLM-driven agents can be applied to DevOps tasks and ability to prototype simple agentic flows.
- Curious, self-directed learner who tracks GenAI tooling developments and applies relevant advances to their work without waiting to be asked.
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce Certified Administrator or Platform Developer I certification.
- Experience with GitHub Actions for Salesforce DevOps tooling, particularly in package-based deployment contexts.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Administration, audit trail, and compliance-driven deployment practices.
- Experience supporting large-scale Salesforce implementations with multiple DX packages and complex inter-package dependency chains.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Administration — code scanning, secret scanning, or access management for teams.
- Experience building or deploying agentic AI workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Agentforce or AI integrations within the Salesforce platform.
