Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive construction safety policies, procedures, and EHS management systems at the project site.

- Ensure compliance with applicable safety legislation, statutory requirements, client standards, and project-specific safety guidelines.

- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification to ensure protected execution of construction activities.

- Prepare and review Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), Method Statements, and Safe Work Procedures.

- Monitor and enforce Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities, including working at height, hot work, confined space entry, lifting operations, and electrical work.

- Oversee safety arrangements for civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other construction activities.

- Ensure proper implementation of scaffolding safety, excavation safety, lifting and rigging safety, and fall protection systems.

- Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

- Conduct safety training, induction programs, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees, contractors,



and subcontractors.

- Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, contractors, and client representatives to resolve safety issues and ensure timely closure of observations.

- Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure availability and compliance across the project site.

- Develop and implement emergency response plans, conduct mock drills, and ensure readiness for fire, medical, and other site emergencies.

- Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, incident reports, and EHS performance dashboards.

- Track safety KPIs, identify areas for improvement, and drive initiatives to reduce incidents and unsafe practices.

- Lead and supervise the site safety team and ensure effective safety coverage across construction work fronts.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.E./B.Tech. in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a relevant engineering discipline.

- Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) / Diploma in Industrial Safety or equivalent recognized safety qualification.

- 1215 years of overall experience in EHS, with substantial hands-on experience in construction safety management.
