Job Title: Quality Inspector

Reporting To: Quality Engineer / Quality Manager

1. Job Purpose

To inspect and ensure that all machined components manufactured on CNC Turning and VMC machines meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, and quality standards.
1. Key Responsibilities

- Inspect CNC-turned and VMC-machined components as per engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Perform first-piece inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection.
- Check component dimensions using measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Caliper
- Outside and Inside Micrometers
- Height Gauge
- Bore Gauge
- Dial Gauge
- Thread Gauges, Plug Gauges, and Ring Gauges
- Surface Roughness Tester, where applicable
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T; symbols, tolerances, and machining specifications.
- Verify critical dimensions, hole positions, bore sizes, thread dimensions, concentricity, runout, and surface finish as applicable.
- Monitor production quality and ensure components conform to specified requirements.
- Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming components to the concerned production or quality personnel.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, dimensional reports, and quality records.
- Conduct inspection of incoming raw materials and subcontracted components, where required.
- Ensure proper identification, traceability, and segregation of accepted and rejected parts.
- Coordinate with CNC/VMC operators and production supervisors to resolve quality issues.




- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for recurring defects.
- Maintain measuring instruments in valuable condition and ensure calibration status is valid.
- Follow company quality procedures, safety requirements, and 5S practices.

1. Required Skills and Competencies

- Good knowledge of CNC Turning and VMC machining processes.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings.
- Practical experience in using precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of dimensional inspection, tolerances, and GD&T; fundamentals.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to product quality.
- Ability to maintain inspection records and prepare dimensional reports.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet production inspection requirements.

1. Educational Qualification and Experience

- ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- 1–5 years of experience in quality inspection in a CNC/VMC machine shop is preferred.
- Freshers with sound measurement and drawing-reading skills may also be considered.

1. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Inspection accuracy and reliability.
- Reduction in customer complaints and internal rejection.
- Timely completion of first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
- Accuracy and completeness of quality documentation.
- Effective identification and control of non-conforming components.
- Compliance with inspection procedures and calibration requirements.

1. Working Conditions

- Work in a CNC/VMC precision machining shop environment.
- Standing and moving around the production floor as required.
- Willingness to work in shifts and extended hours when required by production schedules.

Pay: ₹18,400.00 - ₹33,000.00 per month
