Job Title: Quality Testing Engineer – Transformers- Chatrapathi Sambhaji Nagar

- Department: Quality Assurance & Testing / Quality Control
- Experience Required: 2 to 3 Years
- Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Industry: Transformer Manufacturing / Electrical Power Equipment

Key Responsibilities

- Transformer Testing: Perform routine tests (and assist in type/special tests) including winding resistance, voltage ratio, vector group, impedance voltage, no-load loss, load loss, and insulation resistance.
- High-Voltage & Dielectric Tests: Conduct High Voltage (HV) tests such as separate-source voltage withstand, induced overvoltage withstand, and partial discharge tests where applicable.
- In-Process Quality Control: Inspect raw materials (core, copper/aluminium windings, insulating materials, transformer oil) and monitor stage-wise assembly quality.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed test reports, calibration records, and Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs), ensuring complete traceability for every manufactured unit.
- Customer & Third-Party Inspection: Coordinate and handle routine testing inspections alongside client representatives or third-party inspectors.
- Calibration & Maintenance:



Ensure laboratory testing instruments and measuring devices are calibrated regularly as per NABL/ISO guidelines.
- Troubleshooting & Defect Analysis: Identify testing anomalies, diagnose electrical/mechanical faults, and collaborate with production and design teams for corrective actions.
- Safety & Shop-Floor Discipline: Adhere to safety protocols (HSE) and maintain 5S standards inside the test room and shop floor.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of transformer working principles, electrical schematic/wiring drawings, and testing setups.
- Standards Awareness: Familiarity with Indian and international standards such as IS and IEC guidelines.
- Instrument Handling: Hands-on experience with digital multi-meters, resistance meters, TTR (Transformer Turns Ratio) meters, oil breakdown voltage (BDV) test kits, and capacitance/tan delta test sets.
- Soft Skills: Good analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and cross-functional coordination with production and design departments
