Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

- 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Test Engineering, or Software Testing roles supporting agile engineering teams.

Role Overview As a QA Lead Engineer, you will partner closely with engineering, product, and architecture teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable software solutions. You will own test strategy and execution across functional, integration, and non-functional testing while enabling teams to meet delivery timelines without compromising quality.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Planning

- Collaborate with engineers, BSAs, and architects to define test strategies aligned with system design and requirements
- Analyze requirements and technical designs to identify test scenarios, edge cases, and risks
- Define test plans covering functional, integration, regression, and non-functional testing

Functional & Integration Testing

- Validate functional requirements across backend services, APIs, and front-end applications
- Perform API testing for RESTful and event-driven systems
- Validate microservices interactions, workflows, and state-based processes
- Ensure data integrity across RDBMS and NoSQL systems

Automation & Tooling

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites (UI, API, and integration tests)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Promote test automation best practices and shift-left testing approaches

Non-Functional Testing

- Validate performance, scalability, and resilience requirements
- Support load, stress, and reliability testing
- Validate security and compliance requirements in collaboration with security teams

Defect Management & Reporting

- Identify, document,



and track defects with clear reproduction steps
- Partner with engineers to triage and prioritize issues
- Validate fixes and prevent regressions

Collaboration & Quality Advocacy

- Act as a quality advocate within the engineering team
- Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Provide early feedback to prevent defects before implementation

Process & Continuous Improvement

- Improve QA processes, standards, and documentation
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual testing through automation
- Contribute to improving overall delivery quality and predictability

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience testing web applications, APIs, and distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks
- Experience testing microservices and event-driven systems
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and HTTP protocols
- Familiarity with databases (RDBMS and NoSQL)

Tools & Technologies

- Test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
- API testing tools
- Automation frameworks for UI and API testing
- CI/CD integration experience

Soft Skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
