Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented QA/QC Engineer to support quality assurance and quality control activities in shipbuilding, ship repair, and vessel refit projects. The candidate will assist in inspections, quality documentation, monitoring work compliance, and coordinating with production and project teams to ensure that all activities meet approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards. Freshers with relevant engineering qualifications are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in conducting quality inspections of fabrication, welding, piping, mechanical, and other ship repair activities.

- Verify work execution against approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality requirements.

- Support the preparation and maintenance of inspection reports, checklists, quality records, and project documentation.

- Coordinate with production engineers, supervisors, and project teams to ensure compliance with quality standards.

- Assist in monitoring welding fit-up, dimensional checks, material identification, and fabrication quality.

- Support surface preparation and painting inspections, including checking environmental conditions and coating thickness as per project specifications.

- Identify and report quality deviations, defects, and non-conformities to the senior QA/QC team.

- Follow up on corrective actions and verify rectification of identified defects.

- Assist during client inspections, classification society inspections, and third-party inspections.





- Ensure proper maintenance of inspection records, material test certificates, and quality documentation.

- Participate in quality audits and support the implementation of quality procedures.

- Follow shipyard safety rules and ensure compliance with applicable work procedures.

Educational Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Metallurgy, or a relevant engineering discipline.

Required Skills

- 0–2 years of experience in QA/QC, preferably in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing.

- Freshers with a relevant engineering qualification may also apply.

- Basic knowledge of quality inspection procedures, engineering drawings, welding, fabrication, and material inspection.

- Familiarity with MS Office and quality documentation.

- Good observation, analytical, communication, and reporting skills.

- Willingness to work at the shipyard and coordinate with various technical departments.

- Ability to learn quality standards, inspection procedures, and project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

- Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

- Exposure to welding inspection, NDT, piping inspection, or painting and coating inspection will be an advantage.

- Relevant QA/QC training or certifications will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
