Proofing Supervisor / Production Manager ## Job Purpose To operate proofing machines efficiently and accurately, prepare high-quality gravure printing proofs, and ensure that colour, design, registration and other quality parameters match the approved customer/sample requirements. ## Key Responsibilities Operate proofing machines as per production requirements and SOPs.
Prepare gravure cylinder proofs for customer approval and production reference.
- Check colour shade, density, registration, design and print quality.
Match proof output with approved artwork, shade card and customer requirements.
Coordinate with Engraving, Graphics, Production and Quality departments for proofing activities.
Identify and report defects such as shade variation, mis-registration, scratches, uneven printing and other quality issues.
Maintain proper records of proofing jobs, samples and approvals.
Follow machine operating procedures, safety rules and quality standards.
Ensure proper handling and storage of cylinders, inks, solvents and other materials.
Perform basic machine cleaning and routine maintenance checks.
Minimize material wastage and ensure timely completion of proofing jobs.
Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in the proofing area.
Immediately report machine abnormalities or quality issues to the supervisor.
Perform any other work assigned by the Reporting Manager. ## Required Skills & Qualification Qualification:
ITI / Diploma / 10th–12th, preferably with relevant technical experience.
- Experience:
2–5 years of experience in gravure printing/proofing preferred.
- Knowledge of gravure printing, colour matching and registration will be an advantage.
Ability to understand production instructions and technical requirements.
Valuable observation and quality-checking skills.
Basic knowledge of machine operation and troubleshooting.
Ability to work in shifts.
Safety-conscious and disciplined. ## Key Performance Areas (KPI) Proofing quality and colour accuracy.
Timely completion of proofing jobs.
Reduction in rejection and material wastage.
Machine handling and productivity.
Compliance with SOP, safety and 5S.
- Proper documentation and coordination with related departments.
