A Production Supervisor manages daily manufacturing and assembly operations, coordinates floor staff, and ensures that production targets are met safely and efficiently.

Core Responsibilities

Operations & Scheduling: Plan, schedule, and direct daily or shift-based production activities to fulfill customer demand and hit output goals.

Team Leadership: Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate production line workers. Manage shift attendance, shift handoffs, and task assignments. Safety & Compliance: Enforce workplace safety regulations, such as OSHA standards, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Valuable Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Continuous Improvement: Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like output volume, machine downtime, and scrap rates.

Apply

Lean manufacturing, 5S, or Kaizen methods to reduce waste and boost efficiency. Monitor raw material supplies on the floor and coordinate with the maintenance team for equipment repairs or preventive servicing. [1]
