Power BI Developer Senior (5+ Years) Mumbai, India Full-time, on-site Apply for this role Overview

Unico Connect is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to design and deliver production analytics for client business intelligence engagements. The role owns the path from raw operational data to executive-ready dashboards including data modelling, DAX, ETL, and governance. The position is well suited to senior Power BI developers with deep DAX expertise and the engineering discipline to maintain dashboards at scale.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and build complex Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models for enterprise clients
- Write efficient DAX measures, calculated columns, and time-intelligence calculations
- Build and maintain ETL and ELT pipelines into the Power BI semantic model
- Integrate data from APIs, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, and CSV sources
- Implement row-level security, sensitivity labels, and Power BI Service governance
- Train client teams on dashboard usage; document data models, refresh schedules, and lineage
- Maintain version control and CI/CD for Power BI artifacts using deployment pipelines
- Optimise dashboard performance including aggregations, composite models, and incremental refresh
- Govern semantic model changes and partner with Data Engineering on upstream contracts
- Own dashboard incident response when refreshes fail or measures regress

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years building production Power BI dashboards for enterprise clients




- Expert in DAX and Power Query (M language)
- Robust SQL across at least 2 of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery, or Snowflake
- Experience with Power BI Service, gateways, and refresh management
- Working knowledge of star-schema and dimensional modelling
- Capacity to design and document large semantic models
- Experience with deployment pipelines and Power BI Service governance
- Excellent written communication for client-facing documentation
- Comfort working with international clients across multiple time zones

Preferred Qualifications

- Python or R for advanced visuals and analytics extensions
- Microsoft Fabric or Synapse Analytics exposure
- Tableau or Looker for comparative project work
- Hands-on with dbt for data transformations
- Microsoft certifications (PL-300, DP-500)

AI Tools Proficiency Production engineering at Unico Connect assumes AI tools form part of the daily workflow rather than an experimental augmentation. For this role specifically:

- Copilot in Power BI for DAX drafting and report assistance
- Claude or GPT for DAX and SQL review
- Cursor for SQL and Python visual code files
- AI-assisted text-to-DAX tools for measure prototyping
