Job summary The Plumber / Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing water supply, drainage, and plumbing systems across the facility. The role includes responding to leaks and blockages, maintaining plumbing fixtures and equipment, and helping keep systems secure and operational.

Key responsibilities

- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair water supply and drainage pipes.
- Find and repair leaks in pipes, taps, valves, joints, tanks, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Repair and replace taps, sinks, toilets, urinals, showers, flush systems, and related fittings.
- Clear blockages in drains, toilets, waste pipes, and sewer lines using suitable tools.
- Maintain water tanks, pumps, valves, and basic water supply equipment.
- Inspect plumbing systems regularly and carry out preventive maintenance.
- Respond to plumbing complaints and breakdowns, and complete repairs promptly.
- Assist with plumbing work during renovations, equipment installations,



or changes to facility layouts.
- Check water pressure and identify faults affecting water flow or drainage.
- Report major faults, unsafe conditions, and repairs requiring specialist support.
- Maintain tools and keep the work area clean and orderly.
- Record inspections, maintenance work, repairs, and materials used.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team and other departments to reduce disruption.
- Perform other plumbing and maintenance duties as assigned.

Education and qualifications
- ITI certificate in Plumbing or a related trade.
- Knowledge of water supply, drainage, pipe fittings, valves, and plumbing fixtures.
- Ability to identify and repair common leaks, blockages, and plumbing faults.
- Familiarity with plumbing tools and basic maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices.
- Ability to read basic plumbing drawings is an advantage.
