A Picker in a warehouse or fulfillment center (including quick-commerce dark stores) is responsible for locating, retrieving, and verifying specific items from storage shelves to fulfill customer orders quickly and accurately.
Core Daily Responsibilities Order Processing: Receive pick lists via handheld terminals (HHT), barcode scanners, or mobile picking apps showing item names, SKUs, and exact bin/shelf locations.
Item Retrieval: Navigate aisle-bin layouts to locate inventory, verify product barcodes/batch numbers, and check for correct quantity, weight, and expiry dates. Quality & Damage Check: Inspect packaging for tears, leaks, dents, or broken seals before placing items into the picking tote or cart.
Handover: Stage completed totes at the packing/dispatch station for packers or sorte
