Job Summary

Horizon Prime Hospital is looking for qualified and experienced Physician Assistants to provide medical support to consultants and ensure continuous patient care across wards, ICU, HDU, and the Emergency Department. The role involves patient assessment, emergency response, clinical coordination, medical documentation, and adherence to hospital protocols and NABH standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide routine and emergency medical care during assigned duty hours, ensuring uninterrupted patient coverage.
- Conduct morning and evening ward rounds independently or with consultants and nursing staff, as applicable.
- Assess, examine, and monitor admitted patients and promptly report significant clinical findings to the treating consultants.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls from wards, ICU, HDU, the Emergency Department, and other clinical areas.
- Assist consultants with diagnosis, treatment planning, bedside procedures, and patient management.
- Perform procedures within the scope of qualification, competency, and hospital policy.
- Coordinate with nursing staff regarding patient progress and attend to patients whenever required.
- Review post-operative patients as directed by the treating consultant.
- Prepare discharge summaries and discharge instructions and explain discharge medications when assigned.
- Administer prescribed IV medications, fluids, and other therapies in accordance with hospital protocols and applicable scope of practice.
- Provide emergency support, including BLS, ACLS, and resuscitation, as qualified and required.
- Complete clinical records and statutory documentation accurately and on time, in accordance with applicable regulations and hospital policy.
- Ensure all procedures, consumables, and services provided are documented accurately for appropriate patient billing.




- Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in clinical audits, NABH activities, CMEs, departmental meetings, and mandatory training.
- Remain on hospital premises during duty hours until officially relieved, ensuring continuity of patient care.
- Follow hospital policies, infection-control procedures, biomedical waste management guidelines, and patient safety protocols.

Significant Clinical Compliance: Physician Assistants must not obtain consent for surgery or procedures on behalf of a consultant. Consent must be obtained by the operating or procedural consultant, except for procedures personally performed by the Physician Assistant where permitted within the approved scope of practice and hospital policy.

Eligibility Criteria

- Qualification: MBBS / BAMS / BHMS.
- Experience: 2–5 years of relevant hospital experience.
- Valid registration with the respective State Medical Council or applicable regulatory council.
- Immediate joiners will be given preference.
- Willingness to work 12-hour rotational shifts, with 4 working days followed by 3 days off, as per the hospital duty roster.
