Role & responsibilities

- Design AIS/GIS substations, including General Arrangement (GA) drawings, elevations, busbar layouts, and connection details.

- Prepare grounding, lighting, lightning protection, cable sizing, and conduit fill calculations.

- Perform equipment selection and sizing for transformers, cables, busbars, and other substation equipment.

- Prepare grounding layouts, control house layouts, conduit layouts, and Bill of Materials (BOM).

- Coordinate with civil, structural, transmission line, and communication teams.

- Review engineering designs, coordinate with clients, and ensure quality and timely project delivery.

- Support proposals, cost estimates, project schedules, team mentoring, and process improvements

Preferred candidate profile





- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical substation primary/physical design.

- Experience with high-voltage AIS/GIS substations, preferably across multiple voltage levels.

- Proficiency in substation layouts, grounding, equipment sizing, and detailed engineering deliverables.

- Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and NESC standards.

- Familiarity with CDEGS, WinIGS, ETAP, Mathcad, Dialux/Visual Lighting, and 3D physical design tools.

- Experience in US, Canada, or UK projects is an added advantage.
