ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT A subsidiary of Standard Industries, is undertaking a strategic enterprise data platform modernization initiative (Project Nexus) to build 154 certified, domain-centric data products across Sales 360, Finance 360, and Operations 360 domains.

The platform is being built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and involves migrating and harmonizing data from 40+ source systems - including PeopleSoft, SAP S/4HANA, Salesforce, and other enterprise applications - into a unified, AI-ready data lake.

This role is critical to the success of the program. The selected candidate will serve as the PeopleSoft domain expert for the Operations function, providing deep functional and technical knowledge of PeopleSoft schemas, tables, business rules, and data relationships. This knowledge is essential for enterprise data modelling, source-to-target mapping, data product design, and validation of transformation logic as data moves from legacy PeopleSoft systems into the modern GCP data lake.

ROLE OVERVIEW

- Act as the PeopleSoft Operations domain Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the data platform modernization program.
- Provide deep functional and technical knowledge of PeopleSoft Supply Chain Management, Inventory, Manufacturing, Procurement, and related Operations modules.
- Drive source-to-target mapping from PeopleSoft Operations tables to the canonical enterprise data model for Operations 360 data products.
- Collaborate with Operations leadership (VP Manufacturing, Supply Chain Directors, Plant Managers) to validate business rules, KPIs, and operational reporting logic.
- Support the data engineering team in building accurate, high-quality data pipelines from PeopleSoft Operations modules into the GCP data lake.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. PeopleSoft Functional & Technical Expertise
- Provide end-to-end functional expertise across PeopleSoft Supply Chain Management, Inventory, Purchasing, Manufacturing (Production Management), Warehouse Management, and related Operations modules.
- Explain PeopleSoft Operations module configurations, business unit structures, item master setups, and manufacturing process flows as implemented.
- Identify and document PeopleSoft customizations, bolt-ons, and extensions that impact Operations data structures and business logic.
- Map PeopleSoft Operations transactions end-to-end - from procurement through receiving, production, inventory management, shipping, and logistics.
- Articulate how -specific business rules (plant performance calculations, BOM structures, demand planning, SIOP targets, capacity agreements) are implemented in PeopleSoft.

1. Enterprise Data Modelling & Source-to-Target Mapping

- Lead source-to-target mapping (STM) for PeopleSoft Operations tables to the canonical Operations 360 enterprise data model.
- Document PeopleSoft record definitions, field structures, translate/prompt tables, tree structures, and SetID-based configurations for Operations modules.
- Identify primary keys, foreign keys, join conditions, and cardinality across PeopleSoft Operations tables - including inventory, purchasing, manufacturing, and logistics tables.
- Define data dictionaries and business glossaries for all Operations-related PeopleSoft fields being mapped to the data lake.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Model (EDM) team to validate entity relationships, resolve naming conflicts, and ensure source-agnostic harmonization.

1. Data Product Design & Validation

- Support the design and validation of 58 Operations 360 data products - including Inventory, BOM, Production, Plant Performance, Freight & Logistics, EHS, Asset Maintenance, Procurement, and Retail operations.
- Validate transformation logic, business rules, and calculated fields as PeopleSoft Operations data moves through Raw Transform DaaP layers.
- Perform source-to-target reconciliation to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and consistency between PeopleSoft source and data lake targets.
- Support UAT by providing expected results, test scenarios, and validation criteria based on PeopleSoft Operations business logic.




- Define data quality rules (inventory balance validations, BOM completeness, purchase order integrity) specific to PeopleSoft Operations datasets.

1. Cross-System Harmonization

- Collaborate on the PeopleSoft-to-SAP S/4HANA data merge strategy for Operations entities - defining which source masters each field (material master, plant, storage location), handling ID crosswalks, and resolving conflicting business rules.
- Support harmonization of Operations data across PeopleSoft, SAP, and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) into a unified canonical model.
- Map PeopleSoft Operations hierarchies (product, plant, warehouse, cost center) to the enterprise-wide hierarchy model.
- Support integration with non-SAP operational systems - MES/shop floor systems, freight audit platforms, EHS compliance systems, and retail portal feeds (Home Depot, Lowes).

1. AI Tools & Contemporary Discovery

- Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar) to accelerate discovery of PeopleSoft configurations, customizations, and data flows.
- Use AI tools to reverse-engineer undocumented PeopleSoft implementations - including stored procedures, SQR programs, Application Engine logic, People Code, and integration points.
- Apply AI-assisted techniques for automated documentation generation, code analysis, and schema discovery to reduce manual investigation time.
- Proactively explore how AI can accelerate source-to-target mapping, data profiling, and anomaly detection across PeopleSoft datasets.

1. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

- Interface directly with leadership - including VPs, Directors, and Senior Managers - to gather requirements, validate business rules, and present findings.
- Translate complex PeopleSoft technical concepts into business-friendly language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in solution forums, design reviews, sprint demos, and steering committee meetings as the domain authority.
- Collaborate with Kloud9 data engineers, data architects, data analysts, and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of PeopleSoft business logic in the new data lake.
- Produce clear, comprehensive documentation - including functional specification documents (FSDs), data dictionaries, business glossaries, and entity relationship diagrams (ERDs).

DOMAIN-SPECIFIC PEOPLESOFT KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED The candidate must demonstrate deep, hands-on expertise in the following PeopleSoft Operations areas:

Inventory Management

- PeopleSoft Inventory module - item master, stock management, inventory transactions, putaway, picking, shipping, and cycle counting.
- Tables: PS_MASTER_ITEM_TBL, PS_BU_ITEMS_INV, PS_IN_DEMAND, PS_SHIP_INF_INV, PS_RECV_LN_SHIP, and related inventory tables.
- Inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average, standard cost) and their configuration in PeopleSoft.
- Inventory in-transit tracking, inter-unit transfers, and consignment inventory management.
- Material movements - receipts, issues, adjustments, transfers, and their impact on GL postings.

Procurement & Purchasing
- PeopleSoft Purchasing module - requisitions, purchase orders, receipts, vendor management, sourcing, and contract purchasing.
- Tables: PS_PO_HDR, PS_PO_LINE, PS_PO_LINE_SHIP, PS_RECV_HDR, PS_RECV_LN, PS_REQ_HDR, PS_REQ_LINE, and related purchasing tables.
- Procurement workflows - from requisition approval through PO creation, goods receipt, and three-way matching.
- Purchase order schedules, blanket purchase orders, and buying agreement structures.
- Vendor performance tracking, vendor scorecards, and supplier qualification data.

Manufacturing & Production
- PeopleSoft Manufacturing (Production Management) module - production orders, work orders, bill of materials (BOM), routings, and shop floor control.
- Tables: PS_PROD_ID, PS_PROD_ITEM, PS_EN_BOM_COMPS, PS_EN_BOM_HDR, PS_CM_COMP_COST, and related manufacturing tables.
- Bill of Materials (BOM) structures - single-level and multi-level BOMs, phantom items, substitute items, and co-products/by-products.
- Labor and overhead cost calculations, routing time, production rate tracking, and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) metrics.
- Production tracking - production details, unplanned downtime, quality metrics, and scrape/waste reporting.

Warehouse & Logistics




- PeopleSoft Warehouse Management - warehouse structures, zones, locations, putaway rules, and picking strategies.
- Freight and logistics data - freight audit, lane routing, accessorial surcharges, standardized freight lane distances, and transportation management.
- Shipment tracking, delivery tracking, dock & yard management, and truckload capacity planning.
- Global shipping capacity, customer shipping agreements, and logistics stop/leg detail tracking.

Asset & Maintenance Management
- PeopleSoft Asset Management as applied to plant operations - asset inventory, preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and purchase requisitions for maintenance.
- Tables: PS_ASSET_MASTER, PS_AM_WO_HDR, PS_AM_WO_TASK, PS_AM_PM_SCHED, and related maintenance tables.
- Preventive maintenance scheduling, condition-based maintenance triggers, and maintenance cost tracking.
- Plant worker training records, certifications, and compliance tracking data structures.

Demand Planning & SIOP
- Demand planning data structures in PeopleSoft - demand forecasts, demand planning parameters, planning BOM, and forecast consumption logic.
- Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) - SIOP targets, production forecasts, weekly outage tracking, and capacity planning.
- Customer capacity agreements, climate zone segmentation, and seasonal demand patterns.
- Retail operations - retail customer data, retail inventory, retail forecasting, and retail planned production (Home Depot, Lowes feeds).

EHS & Safety
- Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) data structures - incident management, action tracking, site details, and safety & quality employee inputs.
- EHS compliance reporting data - inspection records, corrective actions, safety metrics by plant/site.
- Quality management - quality test results, non-conformance tracking, and quality hold processing.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- 12-15 years of hands-on PeopleSoft experience with deep expertise in the Operations domain.
- Extensive knowledge of PeopleSoft schemas, record definitions, field structures, tree structures, and table relationships for Operations modules.
- Experience with PeopleSoft query tools, SQR reporting, Application Engine, People Code, Component Interfaces, and Integration Broker.
- Proven track record working on large-scale data migration, data lake, or data warehouse projects involving PeopleSoft as a source system.
- Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft data extraction - including full snapshots, incremental/delta extracts, and Change Data Capture (CDC) patterns.
- Ability to work 5-6 hours per day overlapping with US Eastern Time (EST/EDT) for real-time collaboration with stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact with senior leadership (VP/Director level) and explain technical concepts clearly.
- Experience with source-to-target mapping (STM), data dictionary creation, and business rule documentation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
