Osé is an Indian made-to-order womenswear brand based in Ahmedabad. Every piece is made for the person ordering it, so fit and precision are central to what we do. We work across western silhouettes, Indian wear, and fully custom pieces.
The role
We’re looking for a skilled pattern maker to own pattern development from design sketch to a sample that fits well. You’ll work closely with our design lead and production team, and your patterns will be the base for every garment we make.
Responsibilities
- Draft accurate base and style patterns from sketches, reference images and design briefs
- Create patterns for western wear (dresses, co-ords, tailored pieces, tops, bottoms) and Indian wear (kurtas, lehengas, blouses, anarkalis, sets, indo-western)
- Develop custom patterns from individual client measurements,
including adjustments for different body types
- Create and maintain a size chart and base block library (standard sizes and custom fits)
- Work with the design lead to build samples, run fittings and make corrections until the fit is right
- Grade patterns across sizes
- Advise on fabric behaviour, seam allowances, drape, stitching and construction methods
- Prepare tech packs, cutting instructions and pattern markings for the production team
- Estimate fabric consumption for each style to help with costing
- Keep patterns organised, labelled and archived for easy reuse
- Work with tailors and the production team to resolve fit and construction issues
